Annual Coats Farmer’s Day
Started in 1910, this event honors Harnett County’s farming heritage. In addition to field crop competitions, canning demonstrations and garden and orchard products, Farmer’s Day also includes a golf tournament, a tractor show, live music and loads more fun.
Cape Fear Fest
Put on by the Lillington Chamber of Commerce, the Cape Fear Fest offers festival goers vendors selling food, arts, crafts and more as well as live music and activities for the kids. Best of all, it’s free.
Crepe Myrtle Celebration
The arrival of fall bring a number of festivities to the county including the Crepe Myrtle Celebration in Angier. Held the second Saturday of October, the event marks the appearance of beautiful blossoms with music and entertainment, arts and crafts, food and rides. It’s fun for all ages.
Denim Days
Erwin, once known as the “Denim Capital of the World,” celebrates its past in a big way every October. Come enjoy concerts, performances, a parade, car show, competitions and pageants among other things.
Erwin Wilderness Challenge
In June, brave athletes tackle a physical challenge of epic proportions – an 18-mile kayak/bike/run triathlon. The course runs through the countryside, down the Cape Fear River and into downtown Erwin.
Fourth of July Celebration
Celebrate our nation’s independence in the county seat of Lillington. You’ve got fireworks, children’s games and activities, food, special exhibits and entertainment. Everything you need to have star-spangled good time!
The NC Cotton Festival
Cotton is king at this annual November festival in historic downtown Dunn. It celebrates and recognizes one of North Carolina’s prime agricultural products. In addition to usual festival entertainment, revelers can also tour an operating cotton gin.
